Events at the Cobo Bay Hotel
JT Summer Balcony Gigs
Cobo Bay Hotel has been providing great entertainment to locals & visitors alike for nearly 30 years, with top local & UK bands, including some of the best tribute acts in the world, playing to over 2000 people from our first floor balcony.
These events have become a major part of Guernsey summers and bring a real carnival atmosphere to the Cobo seafront, whilst raising much needed funds for local charities such as the Guernsey Cheshire Home. Due to the popularity of our balcony gigs, a section of the Cobo Coast Road at the front of the hotel is temporarily closed off. If you are a resident and would prefer a more peaceful afternoon then we will be more than happy to arrange any trips or excursions you may wish to enjoy.
Book a table for lunch on The Beach Terrace beforehand to enjoy carvery buffet & dessert for £33 per person and a great view of the concert with drinks delivered straight to your table.
Sunday 30th April: Fleetwood Bac supported by Stoked
Our 2017 summer of music starts with one of our most popular bands to have appeared on our balcony over the years - the original and best tribute to Fleetwood Mac, endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself. Fleetwood Bac replicate the classic Stevie Nicks / Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVie / John McVie / Mick Fleetwood “Rumours” line-up and master their sound, look and infamous on-stage chemistry. Enjoy the best of over three decades of timeless West Coast Rock, with a show that features several songs from the Peter Green days, plus some of Stevie's biggest solo hits.
Formed in 2012, Stoked are a versatile local band that plays all types of music for different ages from Jessie J to AC/DC and Johnny Cash to Lady Gaga.
Sunday 28th May: Robbing Williams supported by The Police Academy
Marc Hockley is one of the most in-demand tribute acts on the circuit, having performed over 2000 shows in 15 countries worldwide since he started “Robbing Williams” 17 years ago. He has always gone down a storm on his visits to Guernsey and will be performing the former Take That man’s greatest hits once again along with his talented band.
The Police Academy painstakingly recreate and reproduce a totally authentic Police experience that allows audiences to enjoy and immerse themselves in some of the best known songs ever written. Roxanne, Message In A Bottle, Every Breath You Take, and Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic are just a few of the highlights in a set that could legitimately be described as “all killer, no filler”.
Sunday 9th July: The Fillers supported by The Day Trippers
The Fillers are the world’s premier tribute to The Killers, having received glowing endorsements from Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vanucci Jr since forming over a decade ago. They have performed around the world to crowds of up to 30,000 people, even filling in for The Killers on one occasion in Mexico, as they recreate the sound, look and feel of the Vegas quartet with stunning accuracy and attention to detail.
The Day Trippers are Guernsey’s very own Beatles tribute band and will be performing some of the Fab Four’s extensive back catalogue to get everyone in the mood for a fantastic afternoon of live music.
Sunday 6th August: Oases supported by City Limits
They don't share the same sibling rivalry as the real band, but Oases do have a lot in common when it comes to reproducing the rousing anthems, stage presence and atmosphere of the Mancunians, who had sold over 70 million albums by the time they split up in 2009.
City Limits are undoubtedly Guernsey’s favourite covers band and are still going strong after nearly 30 years, expertly covering hits from the likes of Queen, Coldplay, The Eagles, Maroon 5, The Beatles and many more.
Sunday 27th August: Aladdinsane supported by Pete Frampton & Friends
Hear & witness David Bowie’s timeless music and theatrics brought back to life by this highly-acclaimed tribute act. Aladdinsane put on an extremely entertaining 100% live show, complete with flamboyant costumes that pay homage to Ziggy Stardust, Halloween Jack, The Thin White Duke and of course the iconic David Bowie himself.
Originally from Guernsey, Pete Frampton carved out a musical career abroad and returns each year by popular request, surrounding himself with legendary local musicians to jam on classic blues & rock ‘n’ roll concert favourites.
Our sister hotel, The Farmhouse, also have a wide range of events planned throughout the year, which guarantee great food, entertainment and fun!
