Cobo Bay Hotel has been providing great entertainment to locals & visitors alike for over 20 years
with top local & UK bands, including some of the best tribute acts in the world, playing to over
2000 people from our first floor balcony.

Our ‘Cobo Balcony Gigs’ have become a major part of Guernsey summers, and can bring a real
carnival atmosphere to the Cobo seafront whilst raising much needed funds for local charities
such as the Guernsey Cheshire Home.

Due to the popularity of these events, a section of the Cobo coast road at the front of the hotel is
closed off; meaning access to and from the hotel & neighbouring Rockmount is gained only from
the rear car park entrance.

The music usually starts from around 3pm and finishes no later than 7:30pm. Why not book a table
from The Beach Terrace for lunch and make a day of it? Alternatively, if you are a resident and
would prefer a more peaceful afternoon then please contact us with any queries you may have
and we will be more than happy to arrange any trips or excursions you may wish to partake in.

Mon 6th May 2013:
Robbie Williams tribute with full band: Support will be provided by Big Machine
We’re starting off our balcony gig calendar a little earlier this year, and with something a bit different. Marc Hockley is ‘Robbing Williams’, and will performing the former Take That man’s greatest hits along with his band, who are one of the most popular tributes in the UK, having racked up over 1,600 live shows. www.robbingwilliams.co.uk

Monday 27th May 2013: Alvin Stardust & his band plus The Really Hot Chilli Peppers
Described by Ronnie Wood as 'the Godfather of British Rock and Roll', Alvin Stardust will be performing his rock and roll classics, jazz and swing standards, seventies anthems and music that has influenced him throughout his five decade career.

Having already had four hit singles under the name of Shane Fenton, Alvin Stardust shot to stardom in the 70's with 'My Coo Ca Choo'. It became a huge international No.1 hit and spent over six months in the charts. Numerous hits followed throughout the world, which led Music Week to award Alvin "Best Male Recording Artist" in addition to "Best Live Performance" at the British Pop Awards.

And what better warm-up act could we have than The Really Hot Chili Peppers - four vastly experienced musicians who were drawn together by a love of funk and a vision to bring the raw energy and power of RHCP to the masses. Sunday 28th July: Fleetwood Bac with support from City Limits
A welcome return to Fleetwood Bac - the original and best Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band. Endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, Fleetwood Bac are the only tribute band to authentically replicate the classic Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie/John McVie /Mick Fleetwood “Rumours” line-up. CITY LIMITS are also celebrating their 25th anniversary and where better to do so than from our balcony! Playing all kinds of music from The Beatles, The Eagles and Crowded House to Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and The Zutons, all decades are covered from the Rock & Roll era to the present day to cater for all gig-goers.

Mon 26th August: Us4//U2 with support from Pete Frampton & Friends
Us4//U2 were formed in the year 2000 and have performed shows all over the world including the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Serbia, Falkland Islands, Portugal, Bahrain & Spain, but more importantly have been an extremely popular fixture on Cobo’s Summer Balcony Gigs calendar for a number of years!.

The Us4//U2 show takes you on a journey through U2's career, delivering an energetic performance which has carved their reputation as one of the most sought after tribute bands in Europe. www.myspace.com/us4u2

Originally from Guernsey, Pete Frampton carved out a career abroad and returns each year by popular request, surrounding himself with legendary local musicians to jam on concert favourites such as songs from David Crosby, Steve Winwood and blues artistes such as BB King, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy. Pete still likes to party on stage though and there will be no shortage of up-tempo material for everyone to savour

Sunday 27th October:
To celebrate 25 years of balcony gigs, and possibly our last, we’re rolling back the years with local bands including Elysium performing their tribute to Pink Floyd, One Diversion and The Doomsday Project, complete with a light & laser show.
